This policy explains what information COS Scoop ("we," "us") collects through cosscoop.com and our newsletter, and how we use it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe.
- Signup details: the page and form you used, the time, any campaign tags in the link you clicked (for example, utm_source), and your approximate country and region as reported by our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address with your subscription.
- Newsletter engagement: once our email platform is active, it may record opens and clicks so we can see what readers find useful and report aggregate results to advertisers.
- Anything you send us, like tips or replies to an issue.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter and occasional service messages (like a welcome email).
- To understand what's working and improve the Scoop.
- To share aggregate stats (like total subscribers or clicks on a sponsor's link) with advertisers. We never give advertisers your email address.
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the site and the newsletter, and they process data on our behalf: Cloudflare (website hosting, signup storage, and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views in aggregate without cookies) and a newsletter delivery platform such as beehiiv. If we add advertising measurement tools (such as the Meta Pixel) to the website, we'll update this policy first and describe what they collect.
Cookies
The site does not currently set cookies for tracking or advertising. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary cookies for security.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of every email.
- Access or deletion: email hello@cosscoop.com and we'll send you what we have or delete it.
Retention & security
We keep your subscription information while you're subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping (for example, to honor an unsubscribe). We use reputable providers and limit access to the people who run the newsletter.
Children
The Scoop is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let subscribers know.
